The September 2010 Scorelogix Construction Job Security Index increased by 6.5% or 14 points compared to August 2010. This marks the sixth consecutive monthly increase in 2010. While this is significant, the problems that Scorelogix has previously noted still remain. The decline of 2009 continued into 1st Quarter 2010 and was only reversed by massive government spending and the $8000 first time home buyer tax incentive’s impact on new home sales. The question of how long these measures will impact Construction remains unanswered. So while the Scorelogix® Construction Job Security Index™ increased 54.5% from January 2010 to September 2010 and is now the same as it was in September 2009, Scorelogix believes that this improvement may not be maintained.
Monthly updates of the Scorelogix Construction Job Security Index, the Scorelogix National Job Security Index and Job Security Indexes for selected industries may be purchased individually or by subscription. Custom reports for specific geographic regions and other industrial groups down to the zip code level can also be purchased.
