It is believed that the soul of the being is captured in the heart at the moment of death. If the soul is evil, the heart should be taken and sealed, severing any ability the entity would have to return to this earth.

Sarafina spawns from the darkest side. Her reign begins in the seventeen hundreds. She takes the minds of the weak and innocent to build her forces. She meets her end bound to a post, set to flames and her heart taken from her. They seal it in a box and bury it deep within the earth.

Centuries pass and Sarafina is a folklore.

Until the day six-year-old Libby Harris innocently uncovers the box and opens it. In doing so, she releases Sarafina.
