Introducing MONO

One of the principal innovations of Mono is that cross platform development is now within reach for less experienced software developers. It is especially useful for those users that write software to apply computer science to their specific domains, without having to know the intricacies of the different platforms or the different development environments. Mono has been designed since the beginning to guarantee binary compatibility: this means that assemblies written in Microsoft .NET can run in Mono without having to be recompiled.
