Description

In the 1820s, American fur trapping brigades invaded the Rocky Mountains, stripping the land of its beaver and forcing the Native Americans into a desperate struggle for survival. Against this backdrop, John Mangum falls in love with Silent Tongue, a mute Blackfoot girl who was captured and raised by the Crows. Beyond the Yellowstone recounts John’s struggle to save Silent Tongue from her brother, Wolverine, who has sworn to return his sister to her own people.
Interwoven into their saga is that of John’s friend, Ben Hunnicutt, and Yellow Corn, a beautiful Crow who rejects the flashy redhead Reamy Wagner in order to marry Ben, and then discovers that she can never escape Wagner’s jealous grasp.
