In the 1940's and 50's, Jim Kjelgaard was a favorite author of boys, who devoured his series of "Big Red" books, and men, who loved his outdoor and western tales.
It has been over 50 years since "A Lens for Trouble" was first published. It is one of Jim Kjelgaard's longest "short" stories, approaching novella length. He later expanded it into the novel, "Wildlife Cameraman."
Synopsis: JASE MASON has made a deal with his father. Jase is to have one summer and $250 to live in the wilderness and find out if he can succeed as a wildlife photographer. His Airedale, Buckles, will be his only companion.
Deep in the wilderness, Jase shoots only with his camera at unsuspecting wildlife, but when bullets start coming his way, he figures maybe his camera has "A Lens for Trouble."
