Before I Die

Before I Die is a portable handbook on questions that might arise in emergency, life and death situations. This includes definitions of terms like DNR or procedures like intubating. While guidelines are offered from a Christian perspective for making hard decisions, such as the continuance of treatment and when to stop, even those who are coming from a more secular outlook can be helped by the information and suggestions which are given. Personal help for family and caregivers who are involved is also offered. This is a book which should help people make wise decisions when their stress level is high and their time may be short. Hopefully they will be more confident in their decision-making and less guilt ridden afterwards, regardless of the outcome. The author, a licensed counselor with extra training in grief counseling, has observed that people who are informed about these difficult end-of-life issues find it easier to make wise decisions regarding their loved ones when a crisis arises.
