This volume is a collaborative undertaking by members of the Chaucer Group of the Modern Language Association of America. The purpose is to present the sources of The Canterbury Tales as Chaucer knew these sources or to present the closest known analogues in the form in which Chaucer presumabley may have been acquainted with them.
