When Never Comes (Book Two):The Mind Set Free (When Never Comes: The Mind Set Free 2)

I feel maybe that I misled people into thinking that "When Never Comes (Book 1)"would delve more into mental illness. Instead, it offered my perspective as a bipolar person, when applied to the world at large. I'd only touched on some things in book one, since it was mostly just about laying a foundation. Since the original manuscript weighed in at around 800 pages, I felt it better to break "When Never Comes" into two parts here. This continuation fleshes things out a little more, but the theme is the same.

There's always been plenty of ways in which our species has been divided from itself, with religion and politics being identified as big supporters of division of any kind. I thought that after having addressed some of the problems we face today in part one, that I'd try and give some alternatives to how things ought to be. All of it is served with a heaping helping of delusional fantasy. I hope that adds to the entertainment, and maybe provides some wiggle room on some of the somewhat fanciful ideas brought up.

I project humanity into the not too distant future, where we will have earned the right to declare ourselves anew, and as a new species--- "Hyper Sapiens," and all that this new title will entail. We will finally have put some distance between us, and the animal aspect of our natures. We will have begun listening to the more noble sensibility that's always accompanied us on the journey to what we are, and to what we might become.

Here's where the mental illness really starts to show. I speak about cures for illness, and how they will come only when tackled on the molecular level. I speak about how our world will be transformed, once we start acting a little more responsibly. There's stuff in here about our propensity as natural explorers, to take our species far beyond what we've demonstrated up till now--- as we become an interplanetary, even an interstellar species. All of this is balanced of course, by the possibility that we'll not be around to enjoy the fruits of our efforts.

This whole thing was brought about by my inability to fit in. In characteristically bipolar fashion, I decided to create a world of my own. You're welcome to visit, and maybe you'll decide that like me, this world isn't such a bad place to be after all. Once we begin thinking more independently, we'll leave behind the squalor we see around us now --- and we'll transform this planet into a heaven of our own choosing. See what I mean about delusion?
