Necessary Evil

World War II - trapped between two battling armies

American forces invade the small, japanese-held island of Tinian. Tedtaotao, an orphaned native boy, is caught in the middle as bullets fly. His adoptive mother is horrifically killed and he is thrown into an American detention camp. There, Ted exposes a Japanese spy ring and is set free. When a secretive squadron of American B-29 Bombers arrives on the island, he notices a few things that put him onto a top-secret project. He stows away on a mission that will drop some sort of "gadget" on Japan. At the end of the war, he wonders which nation will own his homeland? The Japanese who committed many atrocities against his people, or the American who have unleashed the fires of hell and killed many thousands of innocents?
