Description ▲
Factoring integers into their prime number divisors using trial division is probably the oldest and simplest method of factoring. This book describes a new method of factoring which has not been discovered before. It can cause an approximate 50% reduction in the number of trial and error calculations by trial division. The new method describes three interrelated conditions that provide: a new uniform set of divisors; a smaller substitute integer for the number being factored; and an even smaller substitute number allowing line by line calculations to be skipped. The new method has its greatest impact on computer programs using trial division. Using smaller substitute numbers and reducing calculations saves on computer resources and reduces time to a result.
