Description

Major General Igor Streletsky, an ultranationalist and former military intelligence officer, is buying the presidency of the Russian Federation with money hidden offshore by the old KGB and Quentin Ayres intends to stop him.

Quentin, the urbane head of Moscow Capital, working with the US Treasury and the CIA Station Chief in Moscow, are backing Natalia Konstantinov, the intelligent and attractive mayor of Moscow.

Ayres is up against Vitaly Tretyakov the financier backing Streletsky. Tretyakov is accessing money he helped hide in offshore tax havens when he worked with the Eight Department of the First Chief Directorate of the KGB. The assets, Communist Party assets, were secreted offshore when the Soviet Union was disintegrating. Tretyakov now controls them and intends to take control of Russia with them.

Ayres is determined to foil Streletsky and Tretyakov by making off with the money and diverting it to the Mayor of Moscow. Of course, he intends to make a profit in the process. Getting Natalia will be a bonus.
