Description ▲
This volume is a revision and extension of the book "Genealogy of the McIver Family of North Carolina" published in 1922 by Mrs. Helen H. McIver, wife of Brig. Gen. George Willcox McIver, and the revision by her in 1943 of the first of its three parts. In 1956, Mrs. Juanita Vollintine of Fort Worth, Texas, produced 100 photocopies of the 1922 edition. This present book includes the descendants of Kenneth McIver, who emigrated to North Carolina between the years 1772 and 1802 and settled principally in Chatham and Moore counties. From there they spread south and west to the Pacific mainly below and east-west line drawn from the Mason-Dixon line to the northern boundary of California.
Clan McIver is a very old name in the history of Scotland and is found in records as far back as the early 1100's.
