I have been telling these stories for over 30 years to pupils and my own children and they are guaranteed to be popular. I call the tales ‘best loved’ to make sure they are suitable, as some fairy tales can be very frightening and they will not be here.

Fairy tales help children learn and no matter what happens it is essential that everyone lives ’happily ever after’ in this childhood world. I use simple language to make them accessible to children so soon they will be able to read them alone.
