Stop the insanity, I just want to remember . .

Sound familiar?

I have two children in high school. One diagnosed with ADD and the other was a straight As student until his sophomore year. Both at some point, forgot how to remember things. I mean their short term memory was pitiful. They used to be able to remember all kinds of things. Suddenly, near nothing, was their short term memory capacity.

How could that be? Why all of the sudden were my kids dumb as a door knob?

I whipped their butts old school style and short term was restored. Then forgotten, yet again. I could not beat my kids to death for every memory lapse. But, something in that whipping caused them to remember with photographic like precision.

What was it? Could we bottle it? Could we do it without me going to jail for child abuse?

Then . . BOOM !!

We found the answer.. They both told me the very same things.

There was a difference in how they told the same story . .

My daughter explained in about what felt like 63 hours what my son explained in five minutes. How could there be such a disparity in how long a girl and guy tells the same story..?? Ok, that's another story . .

They both began making straight As in a lot less study time. No more studying until 2 or 3 in the morning. They both had developed near photographic memories.

They had different approaches but, the end result was the same. Amazing.

It was a game, it was Fun. It was Easy.
