A thousand years of peace have passed, built on the ruins of a godless and mundane world. Now the true gods are revered and magic thrives. Each strand of conflict: religious, ideological, and patriotic is limited in scope and swiftly passing. But just as the old world sinned in lacking faith, the new world sins in zealotry. The varied strands of conflict, though limited individually, are beginning to intertangle. In this first part of Nach, we examine two strands.
This part and all subsequent parts of the Nach series are fully illustrated. A soundtrack listing is also provided, including music from Agalloch, Opeth, and Led Zeppelin.
The desert kingdom of Zaun worships Order. Within it, two great beasts have awoken. The great dragon Xyst, an embodiment of Chaos, led to Zaun’s founding and now threatens its existence.
Conceived in rape and born in Xyst’s mouth, the human Kaj must choose whether to follow his father in the path of destruction or oppose him and save Zaun.
The angel Azrael, from the long extinct Celes race, awakes in Scandinavia… together with a piece of the Chaos god Xyx. Xyx’s priests are eager to control both Azrael and the piece of their dead god.
