Stanley Takes It Like A Man

This is a humorous short story that has become part of a larger work still in progress. Meet Stanley Wheatman, a man living in a post-apocalyptic world, a man of countless years, a man cursed by Norse gods with immortality and other less appealing characteristics. His luck has been good in recent years, as he has lived comfortably as a veterinarian in a depression-ravaged town. Little does he know, he has gained the attention of a circling spacecraft, the inhabitants of whom work for the Daily Sun and Star, the kind of supermarket tabloid that only prints fictional trash... or so one would think.
