MOTT THE HOOPLE

The underground classic comic novel by Willard Manus was first published in 1967. It was highly praised by critics in the USA and UK, but came to further prominence when the British rock band led by Ian Hunter took its name from the book. Playboy Magazine called MOTT THE HOOPLE "a very winning comic novel." Life Magazine said it was "one of the funniest American novels ever written."
