Organized crime was unheard of in the southern region of the United States entering a new millennium. It was something only seen on the news with the trial of John Gotti until Patrick Washington appeared on the scene and started shaking down businesses in The Church Street District of downtown Orlando. The extortion business was not a part of the city’s daily activities but Patrick made it status quo upon his arrival. But one day all of that changed. Tony, the club owner of Metropolis, refused to relinquish a percentage of his club’s earnings and give in to Patrick’s demands. His refusal led to a standoff and neither man was willing to back down. This ignited a war that would forever change the nightlife scene of the Church Street District.
