Neighbours to the better-known Nigeria, they have experienced a horrid history as part of the slave trade, and an oil boom in the 1970s now well and truly past. Join me as I tackle the banks, the siestas and the remarkable markets. As I grapple with pythons and pushing moto-riders, and have a clash of conscious at the incredible stilt village of Ganvie.
