Male Characters in Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre

For generations Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, one of the most famous English novels, has fascinated people all over the world. Whether the readers are young or old, male or female - it is hard to remain indifferent to Jane's fight for equality and independence against the four male characters John Reed, Revd Brocklehurst, Edward Fairfax Rochester and St John Rivers. Thus, it is no surprise why this story is still popular at schools and universities. The aim of this paper is to depict the representation of these male characters.
