In fact the seventy two years old executive was the chairman of this ambitious board with a great prospect to extract crude from Block C2. His and the oil firm’s main goal was to enlist North Valley as public company at NYSE by issuing a lucrative IPO deal by announcing the potentially and commercially available crude discovered in Block C2 with full rights to the title. During the proceeding, before the floatation on the major market, the firm’s top secret has been leaked out of the boardroom. Laura Atkins, the assistant accountant was the source of the whistle blow that declared the oilfield as thoroughly dry and recommended by SGS, the hydrocarbon underground surveying company, to be plugged. The panicked board tried first to use hush money to avoid the leak reaching the media and the investors. That was unsuccessful attempt that coerced the board members to hush the plotters in their coffins
