This is a non-pc language guide for men who love women, and women who love men enough as to accept them for what they are. It is an unconventional, supplementary guide providing a few select Thai words that could help tourists and expatriates with limited time (please read "Author's Disclaimer") by focusing on a few important Thai words--and also, by providing contexts and strategies for a few of these words. (An identical edition with an additional glossary, is "Little Miss Noi: A Sanook Guide to the Thai Language" at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J169960 )
This book’s chief value may lie in its light-hearted approach, humorous mnemonics, and conversational and defensive strategies (mainly for men), all of which could save readers many times the price of this book. Also, this book includes a few important words that conventional short guides do not usually include.
A final word: It is stupid to fear sounding stupid when pronouncing a language as strange and different as Thai, a tonal language (most guides will just confuse you, and accents vary). Thais are a tolerant people used to having their language murdered by foreigners: just do your best, and listen. Above all, learn to laugh at yourself, and also at the language--with the help of a book that does not take itself too seriously.
