A school bus with children goes missing in a sleepy English village.
Parents of the missing children meet a Clown with special powers who promises to release each child based on a game he plays for just ten days. Mysterious letters are placed in mailboxes to act upon.

A child is brought to life from a wooden toy and lives under bonsai trees. Twins sent to their mother in miniature form are pecked by birds. One turns showman in the backyard. A mother with a dark secret sees her tattooed serpent come alive. Another child helps to double banknotes.
