Description

A Most Rare Vision is a historical fantasy that provides an alternate explanation for the infamous murder of Christopher Marlowe, the inspiration for the plot of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and the rise to glory of William Shakespeare.

Marlowe, a playwright and spy for the English crown, has been arrested as a heretic and sexual deviant. He is dragged out of jail in order to stop an assassination attempt on Queen Elizabeth by supernatural forces in league with King Philip of Spain. Marlowe gains the aid of fellow playwright William Shakespeare, whose patron, the Earl of Southampton, is involved in the conspiracy against the queen. Together, Marlowe and Shakespeare must contend with the treacherous Earl, as well as the dark fairy-king Oberon and his servant Puck.
