An Introduction to the Fluid Power Toolset for LabVIEW, CompactRIO and LabVIEW-FPGA.
In the first part the book discusses ways to model the properties of hydraulic oil, pumps, motors and valves. It shows the merits of particular models and integration algorithms.
In the second part the Fluid Power Toolset for LabVIEW is presented which makes modeling of hydraulic drives very easy. A model of a hydraulic drive is for instance very helpful when developing and testing an Electronic Control Unit with LabVIEW's Control & Simulation Module. This PC LabVIEW model can easily be modified to run on the FPGA of a CompactRIO to serve as a real-time simulator.
In the third part a case study of modeling and simulation of a hydrostatic transmission is presented. This transmission might be used to propel a vehicle and with a CompactRIO 9074 it can be simulated in real-time with a step-size of less than 4 micro seconds.
