A Macro-comparative Assessment of the Civil Codes of Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Hungary and Czech Republic

In this paper, the reader will familiarize himself with legal developments in six post-communist countries; three of them were part of Soviet Union and another three which were under its influence. The author of this work wishes to explain why some of the countries did not re-draft their Codes after the fall of Communism1 whilst he will also include in his work historical reasons that pushed drafters to certain direction in their work.
