One of the most ancient calendars in the human history, Persian calendar is a solar calendar currently used in Iran and Afghanistan. It is also known as Iranian or Jalali calendar. Unlike the Gregorian or Arabic lunar calendars, this calendar is naturally in synchrony with year seasons determined by declination of the sun. It starts with the first day of the spring based on earth position around the sun and each three months exactly cover a season.
You can use this calendar whether you are Persian or English speaking. It also shows Gregorian calendar days corresponding to those in the Persian calendar. Not only Iranians and other Persian (Farsi)-speaking nations, but also non-Persians doing business with Iran or Afghanistan, and those studying Persian language and culture may find this calendar useful. The holidays shown on this calendar are based on official holidays in Iran in 1392 (2013-2014).
