Stories from Rome

This is a collection of short stories about being a foreigner living in Rome, Italy. The expatriate experience generally starts with a love for the new and exotic place we've made our home but is often followed by disillusionment. Then we either ensconce ourselves in ex-pat communities and continue looking in from the outside or we slowly become part of the fabric. My sense of being settled is hard won but I am grateful for the experience of living here, for my friends (Italian and foreign), for the wonderful stories. They have enriched my life and inspired this collection.
