Heruli

H.R. Ellis Davidson stated: "The fury and ecstasy supposed to be bestowed upon men is the link between the god Wodan, worshiped on the Rhine in the first century A.D. and the Scandinavian Odin, god of poetry, magic and the dead. The worship of Wodan is believed to have traveled northwards, perhaps along with the use of Runic letters, with the German tribe of the Heruli." There is an aura surrounding the Heruli tribe that has come down to us over the ages and which seems to grow in power as the centuries pass. Perhaps that aura manifests itself out of the tribe's reputation for using magic and the power of Runes to subdue its enemies and for the ageless reverence historians have held for the Heruli warrior's image as being the very best at his craft.
