My name is Marcus Elliot, but you can call me Elliot. People give me a wide berth and respect my boundaries, you could say I’m a loner – and that’s the way I like it. Even though my appearance belies it, I’ve been around the block a few times. I’m one of those ‘Peter Pan’ types; I look so much younger than my age.
Life is about order and running, so when I cross paths with a pair of twins, acting suspiciously, I’m obliged to investigate them. A decision I may yet regret. Compelled to follow them, I make a leap of faith and now I’m adrift in a world without laws or rules, only expectations. Even though I’m making a fool of myself, I’m discovering abilities I never knew I had and family I never knew existed. And the love of my life. I cannot be that loner any longer.
So many questions about my past answered, so many more raised.
This is a tale – my tale – of magic, not swords and sorcery magic, but that innate magic that some of us possess, even if we don’t know it.
