Victor Marie Hugo, February 26th 1802 - May 22nd 1885, is considered one of the greatest and best known French writers in the world. Many of his books, including best-known works, Les Misérables, 1862, and Notre-Dame de Paris, 1831, have been translated into different languages and made into many films.
One of the most famous characters in literature, Jean Valjean, is a noble peasant imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread. In it Victor Hugo uses his dramatic story captured the intellect and the emotions, crime and punishment, good and evil… It brings the readers back to the uprising of 1832, French Revolution time period. The amazing part is that we can still see what the story reflects exists somewhere in today’s world.
