Perhaps we thought if we just prayed hard enough or held out hope long enough that victory would be swift and sure; bloodless and painless. Low information voters would be enlightened, the few liberals who still loved liberty would suddenly have insight, and independents and moderates would take off their blinders and see the light. Political revolution would prevail!
Obviously, this attempt has failed and has caused our irritation with the political process to turn to frustration. Now our state of mind can best be called desperation. What more can we do? is a common query heard on conservative talk radio.

In the past decade especially, we have slowly given away a bit of that liberty for the sake of safety.
But the liberals didn t take it from us by force we gave it up willingly. Their ascent required our consent. By allowing liberals to subtly and incrementally kill our conservative culture, we now find ourselves on the outside looking in wondering if we will ever have influence again.
And we won t
