Racism not only still exists in America, it is still rampant. This fact contradicts our refined politically correct sensibilities. We truly want to believe that everybody has an equal opportunity to become successful. We are willing to concede that some ethnic and racial groups have a harder time than others. And though we shake our heads at the unfairness, we are comforted by the belief that with the right amount of ingenuity, resolve, and luck, the potential of reaching success is equally accessible to all. Many Americans believe this but it is not TRUE.
The bulk of the most heinous and systematic racism is geared towards African-Americans. And though we have a slew of highly visible and wildly successful African-Americans to exalt and emulate, African-Americans are still disproportionately undereducated, un/underemployed, and wrongfully terminated. This is a true fact.
Discussing racism in American employment practices should not deem one an unreliable idealistic liberal, a racist, or a race-card playing cry baby. America can no longer afford to silence these discussions. We cannot afford to muffle the truth because racism appears to have gotten worst since this nation elected President Barack Hussein Obama not once but two times.
The highly emotional charged racial stories of Travon Martin’s murder, Supreme Court of the United States’ unjust Voting Rights Act of 1965 decision, the disrespect of the presidential office and President Obama, former Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner’s story, and Paula Deans’ saga makes this a perfect time for this book. In many of the instances of perceived and real racism that is currently in the headlines we will never know the truth or motive of the people involved.
Screwed by Former Governor and Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is a true story. It details three years of unbearable racism that Vera Richardson, an African-American female, experienced from New York State Departments of Correctional and Civil Services personnel. The abuse that Richardson endured for five year during her David and Goliath legal battle with Spitzer is detailed with direct evidence in the book.
Richardson was screwed by Spitzer and the American judiciary system when her Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title VII (employment discrimination) case was thrown out of court and she was denied a jury trial. The dismissal of Richardson’s case was based on seven perjured declarations filed in a district federal court by Eliot Spitzer with his summary judgment motion. Her legal battle included appealing the dismissal of her Pro-Se (without an attorney) case to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and to the United States Supreme Court.
This book gives Americans and readers around the world the opportunity to decide and render a verdict on an employment discrimination case based on original evidentiary documents that were uploaded in the book as pictures. The documents includes but are not limited to deposition testimonies, doctors’ reports, letters, perjured declarations, court orders, and transcripts of oral arguments and administrative hearings.
Additionally the book will allow readers to decide if the Supreme Court of the United States should have reviewed and remanded Vera Richardson’s case back to the district court.
The New York State Attorney General's Office attorney's actions were improper in my case. Therefore, one can only imagine that other law firms and attorneys are also using summary judgment motions to deny other victims of employment discrimination a trial by a jury.
Richardson like Lilly Ledbetter was denied justice by the Court. She hopes and prays that President Obama will sign an Executive Order like he did for Ledbetter and women to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Amending the Act again will make both the 13th and 14th amendments of the United States Constitution and the Civil Right Act of 1964 a living reality for all Americans who are victims of unlawful employment d
