Reflections on the Lord's Prayer in Luke's Gospel
A series of essays that reflect on the Lord's Prayer as it appears in the gospel of Luke, phrase by phrase. Consideration is given to how the phrases are expanded and explained in the parables and teachings contained in the rest of the gospel. Also considered are the roots of key concepts in the Hebrew scriptures. Ramifications of different phrases in contemporary American society are mulled. Some will laugh, some will frown, some will nod in agreement and some will spit nails. And some may do all of these things. If this provides food for thought and reflection, it has reached its goal. If it provides some nourishment for your journey, it will have been worth the writing.
