Photography, Bombay, India; text by Mary Ellen Mark originally published in 1981. This new edition includes additional unpublished photos and a new forward by Ellen Mark. The project was financed by Geo magazine in 1979 during a 3 month stay in Bombay. This is a remarkable documentary work particularly since the womens' conditions, as Ellen Mark states in her introduction, have deteriorated dramatically since she completed her project, rendering any similar attempts extremely difficult.
