Blackwater, Colorado . . . a small, sleepy town that should be an oasis of normal in a chaotic universe. Alas, things are almost never normal in Blackwater. Hannibal Hartford Langhorne, the intrepid publisher of The Valley Eagle newspaper, is drawn into an investigation of a series of inexplicable events that confound the community. At great personal risk, aided by an eclectic group of friends and/or acquaintances, Langhorn's explorations reveal the foibles and quirks of the human character.
