Vince Gironda Seminar

The idea came about when in Paris, France. The great Serge Nubret had flown Chris Lund, Bob Kennedy, publisher of Muscle Mag International, Artie Zeller, physique photographer and of course Vince Gironda, the Iron Guru of modern day bodybuilding, to France as guest of his WABBA Mr. World Contest.

Sitting at the breakfast table with famous 'muscle dignitaries' was indeed a pleasure and privilege as each one began reminiscing over the bodybuilding world as it once was.

Pretty soon though the conversation was gradually dominated by the inevitable Vince, as he came forth with statements like "Larry Scott did everything I ever told him! He never deviated from every course I gave him!"

"He never did bench presses for his pecs! He did my 'neck press' and alternated them with 32 inch width parallel bar dips!"

These words of wisdom were suddenly interrupted by Bob Kennedy who declared "You should hold a seminar Vince. I'm sure you could hold the best seminar in the business. Why not give it some thought?"

"OK maybe I might just do that." replied the great one.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday, 30th May 1981, the first ever Vince Gironda Seminar commenced at one of Ken's 'Vic Tanny Nautilus Gyms' in Toronto.
