Valley Beyond the Sun

A continuing story about Zeke's son, Isaiah and Jeremy Pike. The Ninth U.S. Cavalry Regiment, later known as "Buffalo Soldiers", formed in Greensville LA, circa 1867. Officers and troopers existed under controversial conditions from the government and the general public from the start. Forced to train in the field against Comanche, Apache, renegades and outlaws from the Devils River to Fort Stockton in Trans-Pecos, TX and from The Rio Grande to the Guadalupe Mountains, NM, men struggle to survive and to understand their destiny.

Joshua Brown presents unique problems. An orphan from the age of 14, he is insubordinate, belligerent and desperate. He knows the cavalry is his last chance for a productive life, but rebels at authority and is a 'slave' to his violent temper.

The Buffalo Soldiers thrive, despite obstacles and leave a huge footprint in the Indian Wars and United States History.
