Fledgling attorney, Stormy Stillwater, wants to make a name for herself with her first case, a dispute over ranch water rights and a bourbon distillery. It's going to be tough: the opposing attorney is successful Las Vegas lawyer, Jeff Hand. Unfortunately, he is also the guy she met at her brother's wedding and with whom she had her first one-night stand. She's incredibly embarrassed and yet remains super-attracted to Jeff. In spite of the fact that sleeping with opposing counsel is a WAY big no-no, she falls into bed with him again all too easily.
Jeff, for his part, is taken with Stormy at the outset and tries to show her that his feelings go far beyond a one-night stand. He couldn't understand why she disappeared the night after the wedding, or why she's so elusive now. He can't keep his hands off her, or she him, and it seems like they're in bed every other minute. So why the cold feet where he's concerned?
As if they didn't already have enough complications, Jeff has some very old-fashioned ideas about curbing unwanted behavior, even in grown women. And if there ever was a woman who needed a few trips over a guy's knee, it's Stormy. Stormy, who knows perfectly well she should run screaming from anyone who thinks like this, finds herself incredibly intrigued... and turned-on.
Will Jeff be able to get Stormy out of the bedroom long enough to convince her to take a chance on love?
