Emancipation of Human Mind

If Darwin’s theory is applied on humans, each person evolves during his/her life time. However human mind remain same. No special features/powers. It appears that the theory of evolution has been unduly blown out of proportion to apply on everything. Every change is not an evolution. Mind may accumulate more memory and become weary with age but it certainly does not evolve.
It is unfortunate that while nearing the end of this journey we become cynical, irritated and arrogant. Unable to understand simple problems. Unable to do simple calculation. Alas! Complete devolution.
Why human being do not evolve like flower? Most of us hardly ever flower, grow, bloom. Something happens in the course of our life which stultifies us, deadens us, so that there is no deep inward nourishment. Why?
