Description

This seminar is devoted to the structural design of precast concrete parking structures following system analysis. Included are three major topics of discussion. The first topic is the design and detailing of connections between structural members, which are, as always, crucially important in precast concrete structures. The second topic is the structural design of the horizontal components, which include double-tee units, inverted tee beams, spandrel beams, slabs, and stairs. The third topic is the structural design of vertical components including precast columns, prestressed columns, ramp walls, shear walls, and stair walls.
