Frank, the Ant: Crossing the Criss-cross Plain

Impressed by stories of adventure recounted to him by the grizzled old scout ants living in retirement in the ant colony under the sink, Frank, the ant decides to set out on his own to explore the empty spaces which stretch beyond the cupboard as far as the eye can see. In his exploration of what is, in fact, the kitchen of a local family of humans, Frank is joined along the way by Ezra, the silverfish, Fred, the flea, and the helpful but hungry Harry, the fly. After a series of adventures during which the explorers come to see firsthand the human giants who live among them, Frank and Ezra make their way back to the colony where their own stories become part of the oral tradition of the community.
