Middle-Grade Science Fiction Time Travel Adventure

As battles rage across the solar system, Noah must work to join together a rag-tag bunch of miners, farmers, and scientists who would rather just live in peace. With only a time-traveling ship full of animals and a general from the history books, the Zarc family has to stand against the full might of the Poligarchy.

Will the truth about what really happened a thousand years in the past be enough to stop total war, or will Noah and his friends need to find another way to bring down a dictator?

Praise

“Pease’s strength as a storyteller lies in his ability to connect multiple time periods imaginatively, as well as Noah’s excited, fast-paced narration.” – Publishers Weekly

“...my son is absolutely crazy about this series. He told me that the whole story is a cliff-hanger from beginning to end, and that one cannot put the book down at any moment.” — Soft Paws, Amazon Reviewer.

Interview with the Author

Q - What made you want to write a middle grade series based on an ark in space?

A - First of all, why not? It just seemed like a bunch of fun. But seriously, when my son was in his early teens he was an avid reader, and I noticed a complete lack of middle grade books for boys, so I wanted to write a fun, coming of age adventure for kids that I knew he would love.

Q - But why a preteen science fiction book? It seems like kids and teens are more into fantasy.

A - Don’t get me wrong, I love fantasy, but there’s just something about science fiction that gets my heart pounding. The Noah Zarc series is part kids dystopian, part action adventure, and just a whole lot of fun. At the same time, it asks the deeper questions about the power of family, and even what it means to be human.

Q - So it’s a middle grade dystopian? Can’t that be a little dark for kids?

A - There is definitely a trend in teen science fiction and fantasy to go a little darker, but that wasn’t my goal here. Noah Zarc is clean, it is fun, but it asks some serious questions. Some are related to what happens when a government gets too powerful and does whatever it wants. But that is more just the backdrop for an action adventure novel in space, with cool gadgets, time-travel, robots, and a boy who overcomes every obstacle to save those he loves.

Q - What order should the books be read in?

A - I’ve written a prequel that can give you a taste for the series, so you can start there, or you can read them in the order listed above. And if you want to just dive right in, there’s an omnibus with all three books in the trilogy in one volume.
