Description

Wrap your baby in soft, elegant tradition on his or her special day. This Baptism or Christening gown has a full long skirt and cap sleeves with seed stitch edging, and a filigree seed stitch body for a perfect fit. Buttons close the back neckline. It is the perfect gown for your tiny prince or princess, and absolutely destined to become a family heirloom. It is perfectly paired with the Traditional Baby Bonnet. Madame Segneri created this pattern for the Baptism of her daughter.

The gown is soft and stretchy, and can be knit in two sizes, newborn to 3 months, or 6 to 18 months.

You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit stitches, purl stitches, knit two stitches together, yarn over, cast off, seam the finished work and knit in ends of the finished work – skill level beginner/intermediate.

A gown, for an average skilled knitter, should take approximately 30 hours to complete.
