Description

In 1948, Argentine President Juan Peron wanted Kurt Tank to build a prototype of Hans Multhropp’s Ta 183 fighter design. About the same time, Reimar Horten was asked to design an Argentine version of his famous WW2 twin Jumo 004B jet powered all-wing Horten Ho 229. Horten proposed a seismic design shift. His idea would be a tailless flying machine featuring two vertical stabilizers each with an attached hinged rudder. It would be powered by a single Rolls-Royce “Nene” engine. Its air intake featured a super large scoop beneath the fuselage.
