About the Author

Usama Soltan, Ph.D.
is assistant professor of Arabic at Middlebury University where he teaches Arabic as a second language for all levels. He translated the Arabic for the Word by Word Picture Dictionary (Pearson, 2008). Dr. Soltan received his Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Maryland. He is a native Arabic speaker.
