Aliens invade the earth through use of advanced technology. Russell, while hiding in a jet liner lavatory, is witness to a hijacking by aliens and the implanting of a controlling alien intelligence in all of the passengers and crew.
A group from SETI has been preparing themselves for such an invasion since the 1950's and helps to organize and fund a resistance group beginning with Russell and under the leadership of Lisa Dorn and a retired Navy SEAL, John Stutz.
The group first attempts to capture implants and separate the alien and human entities occupying the bodies. They are successful in doing so, but they find that the process is slow and endless. As the alien implant population grows, the implants take control of the local police department and form groups of implants numbering in the thousands.
Each group of implants has a leader, fighter implants and a great number of implants that have infiltrated society.
Using hit and run tactics the resistance group grows and has continuing success, but suffers many casualties. They plead with the government for aid in fighting the alien implants but the government prefers to deny the problem.
