Description ▲
A journal 1972-76, of the time when hippies went back to the land, but not to communues. Rather with jobs, spouses and money to buy land, create families and get back into a system which they hoped they could change from within. It takes place in Ashland, Oregon, a lovely college town in the foothills of the Cascades. The new generation saw all the promise of espresso shops, arty boutiques, music venues, wineries, personal growth workshops, all the things that would make life interesting to a new generation who had just been through five years of psychedelia. It includes journeys in psychotherapy (Reichian), the new spirituality, yoga, even the last hurrah of Ken Kesey. It was a glorious time, full of hope and youth and finding real love that we thought would be vastly better than our parents and last forever. ~
