SCI-FI
SEASON PREMIERE

Residents of a diverse southern community become aware of an impending doom of mysterious origin. As certain revelations are made, it comes to light that some individuals are not at all what they seem.

RATED R
For strong language and some sexual content.

"What?" Asks Drew. Alaina stands before him, with a look of mock reproach on her face. "Who her?" He asks, thumb cocked back toward the reddish-hued beauty who leans through the driver's side window of a Nissan Altima parked behind him.

Pat Benatar's Shadows of the night still pours through the speakers while the outside lights click off around them. They stand near a table at a Sonic's, faces awash with the powder blue glow of starlight. "She......is just a friend." He says.
Alaina leans to the right, peering past Drew to the scantily clad topic of conversation. Her eyes slide back to his, and with a smirk she says, "That chick aint built for friendship."
"Just a friend." He reiterates
"Just a friend." She relents, putting her hands up. They look into eachother's eyes while Benatar's raspy vocals are woven throughout a pop/rock anthem of endless love and ambient synths that lay the soundtrack to a tacit yearning and shyly averted gazes that glint with star-riddled sky. "A friend like me?" She asks.
"There wil never be.....another friend like you."

BRETT ( V.O. )
Funny thang bout people....they always findin ways ta seperate.

Drew and Alaina walk down a long road shouldered with dense woods. It stretches out before them and bleeds into a golden sunset.

Reflected within dark lenses of shades, is a black dog. It peers out at the woods. Haunches tightly coiled, it barks vociferously, shaking and quivering with anger. Then, it begins to turn it's head to look back.

A man stares ahead. On his sickly pallid face is the backwash of a verdant light.

A navy blue Chevy races down a dark road.

On the road, Alaina jumps back in terrified astonishment. She throws her hands over her mouth, her eyes well up with tears.

In a rippling black puddle a horned figure appears, blotting out the mirrored stars.

Held within a hand, dented dog tags turn slowly in a shaft of yellow sun.

The Chevy's motor revs loudly as it takes flight over a dark hill in the woods.

On the road, Alaina recoils in horror and begins to scream, "Oh no,no,no! NOOOOOOO!"

"Oh shut uuuuup. Stop being so dramatic. " Drew says to her. They walk down the road, his arm is flung casually over her shoulder.

"It's like legit scary. Texas Chainsaw type scary." She tells Drew.

"Yeah?" He asks, a hint of a smile on his face.

"Like for really, really." Alaina says.

Alaina runs through dark woods, teary eyed, bloody. Panic and fright stretch her features into a mask of bleak anguish.

BRETT ( V.O. )
( Cackles slowly. ) Hold on, we almost there.
The tires of the Chevy spin and rip at black sand that spans a hollow desert of night and the tailights quickly become ghostly red eyes that recede into a lightless void.
