Chaos: The Light Returns

History is often distorted by time. Sometimes it is written with a perspective that puts one ‘side’ or another in a better light. With time, comes the loss of concern over events and people who suffered or endured an injustice. And as time goes by, the importance of these events corrodes.
When miracles happen, the history books play them off as myths, and churches blow them up to make a special point. Even truly remarkable events have no protection against time.
A thousand years ago, such an event occurred. A great war divided the world into two factions. Magic ruled the world then. The fighting was so devastating that the very survival of the human race was threatened. A great wizard stopped the hostilities in the only manner he knew how – with magic, of course.
A spell was placed over the world, which was to last for a thousand years. As time went by, people forgot about magic. The beliefs became nothing more than mythology and insanity to most. Only a few of the ancestors of the greatest wizards understood the actuality. Time distorted the line between truth and fantasy.
What would happen to the world now that the thousand years was ending?
Time is up. The era of chaos is upon us.
